Documenting Contemporaneity. The Historical Archive of the Institute for the History of the Risorgimento

Abstract

The Institute for the history of the Risorgimento was born in the late Nineteenth century with the idea of building a museum of «Contemporary History». This collection was subsequently enriched during the First World War. The historical archive of the Institute allows us to re-read the way the Risorgimento was understood after the Second World War.
