Abstract

The project is designed especially for public libraries. These are community aggregators, meant to preserve the community’s collective memory and to guide patrons to a self-aware use of the new technologies, which can be applied in the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals. This project is focused on the preservation of the intangible cultural heritage, through intergenerational dialogue and digital literacy. It is intended to involve both young students (14 to 19) and senior citizens (over 65) in a training path which will provide young generations with advanced digital skills and more awareness of their local heritage. Furthermore, the project will promote digital literacy to senior citizens, and highlight their role as guardians of their community’s intangible cultural heritage. A synthesis of the two paths will be the production of a podcast: a new digital archive for the local intangible cultural heritage.
